Welcome Helmar Blog Hoppers!

Welcome Holiday Hoppers! You should be here after visiting the amazing Laura Achilles blog (lauraachilles1.wordpress.com)

Well, I know you have already seen a lot of incredible projects in this blog hop, here is my holiday inspiration....my own version of the 12 days of Christmas ( a mini advent calendar) ...12 days of activities that mean something to our famliy.

I stapled chicken wire to a frame to create my bullentin board. (After the holidays, this will serve as a daily bullentin board)

Plastic name badges became my calendar "pages" and the badges are stuck to my bulletin board using silver clothes pins from Canvas Home Basics.

I used Elles Studio Holiday Numbers adhered to the plastic name badges with Helmar Premium Craft Glue.

I used Best Creations Glitterd Cardstock (have you worked with this glittered cardstock? IT IS A-MAZING!) and on the back side of the glittered cardstock, I adhered regular white cardstock with my 12 days of Christmas activities (using Helmar Acid Free).

From here, you should be hopping on over and being really inspired by our own Amy Teets - She always rocks my scrappy world!

Thanks for stopping by today!

If you leave a comment, please leave a note about your own family traditions during the holidays!

Shelly

So cute!!! And goes to show even chicken wire can be used for a variety of craft ideas!!!!

Our family tradition is pj's. Every Christmas eve we get to open one gift and in it was new pj's and a book......my grandma started it with her kids and then my mom and now me. I know it's because there are tons of pics the next morning but I love finding the perfect and special book for each of my four kids....... It's my favorite gift to shop for!

So cute!

One of our family traditions is that each of my boys (now grown) have their own box of ornaments....either from a trip, or some significant thing from the year, or one they made in school. They will get their box when they get married.

What an awesome idea for a bulletin board!
We don't really have any sort of traditions in our family, just everyone comes to our house on Christmas day (because that's where the grand kids live) and we exchange gifts and then eat-all day long lol

Hugs,
Kristina

Our family always comes together on Christmas Day. We arrange all the presents under the tree, take pictures and then its time to eat dinner. Yes, we eat dinner first before digging into all the goodies under the tree! Sometimes, I tell you, its a fastly-eaten meal. We love to be together all day long! Like this idea as its totally cool! Awesome board. Thanks for sharing. For christmas we do the 25 days of Movies on Tv or our own favorites on blu ray. After dinner we get together and watch a christmas movie and sunggle up on the couch and eat popcorn. I'm not sure how many more years we can get away with it, it's hard keeping my 11 yr old into the whole idea.

Fantastic project. I love that you can use it all year long, not just around the holidays! We don't have many traditions, but one is that the kids scrap their own projects (usually with cut out shapes and construction paper) and those are our family Christmas cards.

cute ... and those decorated clothespins you can get at the dollar store would work wonderfully, too!

Most of our traditions have to do with our faith. We just got home from the kids Sunday School concert where the little angels and shepherds stole everyone's hearts, as usual!

What a great idea for a bulletin board/advent calendar! I am really enjoying this blog hop. Christmas traditions for us are few...we tend to take the holidays slowly and allow less stress. One thing we have been doing is getting new pjs on Christmas eve and then all 4 (me, dh, and 2 ds's) watch the updates on Santa from Norac Tracks Santa site. The kids look forward to that every year!

Cute project! Family traditions... Each year the children and I create some type of handmade Christmas decoration. Our children also receive a dated ornament each year. Our other tradition - hosting Christmas dinner with extended family - won't happen this year since we've recently moved to another state, but we're hoping to start some new traditions this year, too.
